Top Wedding Invitation Collections and Trends of 2018

I can’t believe that we are already at the end of 2018, already diving into wedding invitation collections for Spring 2019. But before I get ahead of myself, I wanted to take the time and share with you all my favorite 2018 wedding invitation suites that I’ve had the honor of designing. This year, not only did I get to work with local couples to the Eau Claire, Wisconsin area, but I also had the pleasure of designing for couples across the United States to pull-off their their destination weddings in New Orleans, LA and French’s Point, MA. Absolute dream weddings!

I swear, every single year, the best couples come to me, eager to create custom wedding invitation collections that not only coordinate perfectly with their wedding theme, but also describes their unique love story on paper. This year, my couples’ aesthetics were elegantly refined, embracing unique elements and concepts. Every element within these collections were carefully constructed and analyzed, from deckled edges and custom illustrations, to moody motifs and hand-painted accents. 2018 was the year of the finest paper details and I’m excited to share below my favorite wedding stationery suites with you.

Racquel & Dustin

Racquel and Dustin wanted to keep their wedding invitation collection clean and minimal, with a lot of white space. Together we created an effortless and elegant wedding invitation paired with hand-lettered calligraphy and rose-gold accents. Beyond the invitation, we created a custom map illustration of New Orleans, another hot wedding trend of 2018, and we finished off the collection with a vellum eucalyptus wrap secured with an embossed hang tag.

Courtney & Mark

Courtney and Mark have the most exquisite taste. Absolute perfection. Their love for vellum, organic lines, and hand-drawn details was at the forefront of their wedding invitation collection. Another hot trend for 2018 that I blogged about has been custom venue illustrations, and I had the pleasure drawing an intricate sketch of French’s Point. From the deckled edges, the floral vellum wrap, and the hand-drawn details, no element was overlooked.

Kristine & Mark

Kristine and Mark wanted a “winter elegance” wedding day, filled with the most beautiful flowers including burgundy dahlias, blush garden roses, and hanging amaranthus throughout the beautiful Lake Wissota Golf & Events venue, finished off with a large wreath of cedar and eucalyptus to hang at the ceremony head.

Kris chose a luscious black pocketfold invitation collection to house all of the important details of their big day. Inside the pocketfold, I created an elegant invitation layered over a burgundy mat to coordinate with the flowers that would be on display. To finish the collection, Kris selected coordinating burgundy belly bands with their names in gold foil—the classiest finish.

Jaclyn & Elling

This sweet couple stepped away from traditional dainty florals & went for a bold & edgy wedding invitation. Dramatic watercolors flowed throughout the their trifold wedding invitation paired with a fun, cohesive hand-lettered calligraphy font and secured with a brass finish. I love that Jaclyn & Elling chose this moody wedding invitation vibe, a hot 2018 wedding invitation trend as I wrote about at the beginning of this year.
